About the webinar:

Join us and NBC’s Today Show nutrition and health expert Joy Bauer to dive into the ever-changing research on dietary patterns for weight management. In this webinar, Joy, Dr. Amy Goss and Christine Tenekjian explore the notion that one size does not fit all when it comes to the scales. What really works? Where do ‘good’ and ‘bad’ fats fit in, and how do they impact weight and health? And what tactics are useful in helping patients adapt and succeed with their culture in mind? Tune in to hear the latest insights on dietary patterns for weight management.

About the speakers:

Dr. Amy Goss is an Assistant Professor of Nutrition Sciences at the University of Alabama at Birmingham and a Registered Dietitian. She is also the assistant director of the Metabolism Core of the Nutrition Obesity Research Center, with expertise in conducting randomized clinical trials to examine the effects of diet quality and macronutrient composition on risk factors of chronic metabolic diseases. The goal of her research is to identify effective, sustainable, and non-invasive dietary means of preventing and reversing disease with metabolic origins. Dr. Goss specializes in MRI techniques for the assessment of fat distribution and organ lipid content. She recently received a $3M NIH grant to conduct a controlled feeding study aimed at improving outcomes in children with NAFLD.

Christine Tenekjian strives to help individuals and groups learn how to eat for a healthy, balanced and energized life. Christine has been practicing in the weight management field as a Registered Dietitian since 2007.
