Cholesterol: That fat-like substance naturally produced by the body, yet also found in foods. As dietitians we know it’s important for good health, however we also appreciate too much cholesterol in the blood can lead to a build up in arterial walls, causing narrowing of the blood vessels, which may then be a problem for your heart health.
This 60-minute webinar will be led by our country’s leading experts on heart health and nutrition with Associate Professor Tim Crowe, focusing on cholesterol (the good, the bad and the current evidence), the clinical benefits of plant sterols, and the current recommendations for the management of healthy cholesterol levels. Professor Peter Clifton, will present the key findings from the Weet-Bix™ Cholesterol Lowering clinical trial, which found the product to be effective, easy and enjoyable for clients to reduce their cholesterol levels.

Professor Peter Clifton
A Professor of Nutrition at the University of South Australia and a general physician specialising in endocrinology/dyslipidaemia, Professor Peter Clifton has over 30 years experience researching the prevention and treatment of cardiovascular diseases, type 2 diabetes mellitus, obesity and other metabolic conditions. Throughout his career, including driving intrinsic food and health research with the CSIRO, he has been passionate about sharing current and emerging research into heart health and the important role diet and lifestyle factors play in maintaining a healthy heart.
Dr Tim Crowe
Dr Tim Crowe is an Advanced Accredited Practising Dietitian who has spent most of his career in the world of university nutrition teaching and research. He now works chiefly as a freelance health and medical writer and scientific consultant. He has an active media profile and a large social media following through his Thinking Nutrition blog and Facebook page.
